Reserve Acquires zurvu and HAIL

Reserve has always been dedicated to helping guests have a better dining experience, from the minute they decided they wanted to dine all the way through payment. To aid in these efforts, we’re very pleased to announce that Reserve is acquiring zurvu, a leading online restaurant reservation service, and HAIL, an innovative payment technology company, as part of our commitment to make every step of going out to eat more elegant and effortless.

Reserve guests currently have access to more than 180 of the country’s best restaurants in New York, Los Angeles, Boston and San Francisco. With more than 80 top restaurant partners in New York and Philadelphia, zurvu will add new amazing restaurant relationships to Reserve as we expand in both our existing cities and enter new ones.

Through, guests were able to request tables at top restaurants using the company’s patent-pending waitlist technology, as well as book publicly available or exclusively held tables. zurvu’s reservation service will continue to operate for a limited time, but eventually will be incorporated into Reserve’s service and technology. We look forward to welcoming zurvu diners to experience Reserve’s concierge treatment.

HAIL, whose innovative payment app Hail Pay allowed diners to electronically hail their servers, split the check, and calculate tip automatically, is joining the Reserve team to help make payment in the Reserve app even more easy and seamless. Our diners love that their bill gets paid automatically through the Reserve app, and photos of our “Check is Paid” cards have spread like wildfire on social media. Check-splitting has been one of Reserve’s most requested features, and through this acquisition we hope to bring this functionality to our service even more quickly.

Both zurvu and HAIL share Reserve’s hospitality-focused approach and care deeply about making the dining experience better for both diners and restaurants. Together, we all look forward to bringing the Reserve experience to more restaurants and guests, and making every part of the dining experience even better, from making a reservation all the way through to paying the check.
