Four D.C. Spots for Holiday Cheer

Looking for a way to celebrate the holidays and toast an ever better year to come? Try sipping on some bubbly, discovering a unique seasonal cocktail or getting cozy with a warm glass of red paired with exceptional cuisine. Searching for a fun non-alcoholic option? Explore house-made drinks you’ve never tried before.

CHAMPAGNE TOAST (FIOLA - PENN QUARTER)

The flagship restaurant from Chef Fabio Trabocchi, Fiola is an upscale trattoria serving Italian fare that changes based on the day’s freshest ingredients. The restaurant’s stately chandeliers, wood accents and dark leather seats create a rustic atmosphere, complemented by an extensive global wine list, creative cocktails and a fantastic selection of champagne.

CRAFT COCKTAILS (ESTADIO - 14TH STREET)

Bustling Estadio serves tapas, traditional Basque pintxos, charcuterie and a variety of other contemporary Spanish small plates. The Moorish-style decor utilizes unique tile and iron work, dark wood, and stone to transport diners back to old Spain. Seasonal spirits, including a Pumpkin slushito, plentiful ciders and sherry cocktails, are offered.

EXCEPTIONAL WINES (TOSCA - PENN QUARTER)

Tosca delivers fine Northern Italian cuisine focused on local produce, fresh house-made pastas and farm-raised local meats. The elegant restaurant features an elegant wraparound wine display, natural wood accents and luxurious seats. To complement the fare, Tosca offers an extensive, smart list of American and Italian wines.

INVENTIVE SOFT DRINKS (GRAFFIATO - PENN QUARTER)

Graffiato serves inventive pizzas and other Italian small plates with Mediterranean and Latin influences by Chef de Cuisine Jose Adorno. One of Chef Mike Isabella’s concepts, the lively restaurant boasts an industrial vibe with high beam ceilings and steel furnishings. The beverage program is extensive, offering prosecco on tap, a variety of cocktail and beer options, and inventive house-made sodas like 5-Spice Ginger Beer.

Happy dining,
Lisa Ganz, Reserve D.C.
