5 Dishes to Cozy up to in Chicago

The sunny fall weather is giving way to a cloudy cool down this week. Feeling the crisp air? These delicious dishes will make you feel cozy inside. Let Reserve help you get toasty at one of these great spots!

GEMINI BISTRO (LINCOLN PARK)

Located on a tree-lined street, Gemini Bistro embodies the warm and inviting atmosphere of the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Featuring American cuisine with French and Mediterranean influences that deliciously manifest in dishes like this delectable beet salad, Executive Chef Jon Keeley‘s seasonally-influenced menu forgoes traditional courses and presents plates by portion size — small, medium, and large, as well as extra-small plates for kids.

CHEZ MOI (LINCOLN PARK)

Chez Moi — or “my place/home” in French — is Chef Dominique Tougne’s homage to authentic and approachable French cuisine. The casual dining room is adorned with modern touches — including decorative copper pots and simple, lightweight chandeliers. A superb selection of French wines, classic cocktails, beers and aperitifs make for ideal companions to the classic bistro fare, including this delightful French onion soup.

BRINDILLE (RIVER NORTH)

The food and style of Brindille reflects a love of France and a return to Chef Carrie Nahabedian’s culinary roots with decadent dishes like this rib of beef. With classic French cuisine and a chic, elegant ambiance complete with fine china and French linens, the restaurant gives a nod to the most beloved local spots in Paris. The wine list encompasses an ever-evolving walk through of the regions of France, and cocktails frequently feature small batch distillers with modern twists.

FORMENTO'S (WEST LOOP)

Formento’s features classic Italian fare like pasta and antipasti crafted by a team of chefs, served in an elegantly designed space filled with plush leather banquettes, red dome chandeliers and lots of vintage photos. Multiple dining rooms and a long bar and lounge make up the two-story space in this sprawling ode to mid-century southern Italian-American cuisine. Luckily, there are still plenty of warm, cozy spots to sip well-executed classic cocktails or enjoy a selection from the over 500-bottles-long wine list.

SALERO (WEST LOOP)

Salero serves modern takes on classic Spanish dishes and pintxos. The restaurant boasts a rustic, chic vibe with wood tables, white brick walls and hanging warehouse lights - the perfect spot to warm up with a tasty bite or mouthwatering dessert like these fresh churros with chocolate. The spacious, lively bar serves a wide array of creative cocktails.

Happy dining,
