2 Years Old, 5 Million Diners Served

Today is Reserve’s birthday and we’ve got a lot to celebrate: over the past two years, Reserve has served more than 5 million guests at restaurants across the country.

Two years ago, Reserve launched as a dining concierge service, working with about 60 restaurants in 3 cities. Today, we’re the exclusive way to book online at hundreds of top restaurants in the best food cities in the country, with new restaurants signing onto our platform every single day.

Over the past year, we’ve built out more great tools for restaurants. In May we launched Reserve for Restaurants, and now have hundreds of partners across the country who use our table management software to improve their day-to-day operations, connect directly with their guests, and save hundreds of dollars a month by not paying cover fees.

We’ve also built out tools for guests looking for a great restaurant. We launched our website, Reserve.com, to make it easy for people to book online, added the ability to favorite restaurants to build your own curated list of spots, and added instant booking in the app and on the web. Through partnerships with publishers like The Huffington Post, Business Insider, and others, we’re sharing our restaurant recommendations with more people than ever before, making it easy for them to find and book great restaurants using Reserve.

In 2014, lots of startups were trying to “disrupt” a company with a near-monopoly on the restaurant reservations space, and we’re proud to have emerged as their leading competitor. To help us get here, we acquired five companies, including Dash, a mobile payments and data company, in April, attracted strategic investors like Diageo Technology Ventures, and partnered with companies like Zagat to integrate our reservations system into their platform.

We’re excited about what’s to come in the year ahead, and look forward to building out more functionality, adding to our network, and serving even more diners — making the dining experience better for all!

Happy dining,
Greg Hong, Co-Founder and CEO
